Tasks of the GRC

The Gutenberg Research College (GRC) intends to raise the academic profile of Johannes Gutenberg University. Its main objectives are:

  • Promotion and assistance of excellent academic research already existent in Mainz.
  • Development of perspectives in terms of new research focuses at Mainz University.
  • Development and implementation of strategies which lead to the realization of these perspectives.
  • Promotion and support of interdisciplinary research at Mainz University, particularly by organizing networking opportunities for GRC fellows from different fields of research.

The primary focus of the GRC is the promotion of individual excellence. The main instrument of the GRC therefore is the distribution of GRC fellowships. Besides that, the GRC also offers strategic advice and initiates interdisciplinary exchange.
