Prof. Ulrich Breuer

Since 2006, Ulrich Breuer has been professor of modern German literature at JGU. His research focuses on German Classicism and Romanticism, but also on the literature from the 1970s. He is widely known for his research on Friedrich Schlegel. Moreover, he has been publishing regularly on more general topics such as poetological concepts and aesthetic theory, autobiographic writing, melancholy, and the theory of text and paratext. As a GRC fellow, he will finish his research on awkwardness in German literature.
