Prof. Ursula Verhoeven-van Elsbergen

Ursula Verhoeven-van Elsbergen is one of the foremost scholars in Egyptology worldwide. She was granted the Academy Prize of the State Rhineland- Palatinate and has been appointed to the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz. Since 2009, she has been serving as Secretary General for the International Association of Egyptologists. As a philologist, Verhoeven-van Elsbergen transcends strictly grammatical or textual contexts and has gained an outstanding reputation in the field of Egyptian Religion. A recent long-term Project focuses on the documentation and Interpretation of the ancient Egyptian necropolis of Asyut.
